No black box. Here are the exact models Council AI uses, how the panel reaches one answer, and how your data is handled — so you can judge the output for yourself.
How a council reaches one answer
Your question goes to several models at once. Each answers on its own, without seeing the others, so their reasoning stays genuinely independent.
Each model then reviews the other answers — without knowing who wrote which — and scores them on accuracy, completeness and reasoning. Weak or unsupported claims get flagged instead of accepted.
A chairman model reads the full debate and writes one synthesized answer, favoring well-supported claims over popular ones and resolving contradictions.
You get a confidence score based on how much the models agreed, with the points of disagreement kept visible — so you know exactly where the answer is solid and where it's contested.
Every individual answer, review and score is available in the transcript. Nothing is hidden behind the final summary.

Councils run live on the models below. A standard council uses 3 models; larger councils (up to 7) add more of these seats for broader coverage. We update this list as models change.

Availability can vary with each provider's uptime and rate limits. You can check exactly which models are live right now — and that each is responding — at /api/diagnostics?test=1. Bring-your-own-key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, xAI and OpenRouter is supported in Settings.
Access & pricing
Council AI is free to use during the preview — no credit card required. Standard councils of up to 3 models are open to everyone; larger councils of up to 7 models are available while the preview runs. If we introduce paid business plans later, existing free access to the essentials will remain.
How your data is handled
Your prompt is sent to the model providers listed above solely to generate answers. We store your council sessions so you can return to them, and you can delete them at any time. We don't sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
