Council templates: proven setups for common jobs
Templates are ready-made council configurations for the kinds of questions people ask most. Each one pairs a roster size, a debate depth and a Chairman style that suit the task, so you don't have to think about the mechanics — you just pick the job and start. There are nine to choose from, spanning research, code review, strategy, investing, legal and medical triage, career decisions, product naming and marketing copy.
A template is a starting point, not a straitjacket. Load one and you can change any setting before you convene the panel. The couple of templates that touch sensitive areas — legal and medical — are set up to be cautious and to steer you toward a qualified human, because a panel of models is a thinking aid, not a professional advisor.
How to use it, step by step
- 1Browse the template gallery. Each card shows what the council is tuned for, how many models it uses, and its debate and Chairman style.
- 2Pick the one that fits. Choose 'Deep Research' for sourced investigation, 'Code Review' for a technical panel, 'Startup Strategy' to stress-test a plan, and so on.
- 3Adjust if you need to. The template pre-fills the New Council form. Change the size, depth, tone or risk level before you run it.
- 4Add your prompt and convene. Drop in your specific question and start the council. The template's settings do the rest.
- 5Review and export. Read the synthesis, open the peer-review matrix, and export the whole thing to Markdown if you want to keep or share it.
A worked example

The Deep Research template convenes five models with deep debate and citations required.
Each model answers with sources; peer review favours the answers whose claims are best supported and penalises confident assertions with no backing. The Chairman returns a balanced summary that separates what the evidence broadly supports from what's still contested, and lists the caveats — a far cry from a single unsourced paragraph.
